This country, made up of what used to be Cananda, Alaska, Greenland and a few other, smaller islands, has made the fastest recovery from the radiation. Already, the mountains are covered in snow, birds wheel high in the sky, and fish swim through the cold oceans. But on the land, only humans prevail. Wildlife hasn't yet made it that far, and when it does, it cannot be sure of a warm welcome from the humans that barely survive there.
This country is made up of the states and Mexico, and still recovering from the radiation of the nuclear wars. A barren wasteland, with only hard ground and dusty roads.
Africa is now almost devoid of water, inhabited only by those who have little or no need of it. It is hot enough to burn a human being to a crisp in a matter of days, even during the nights. Occasionally, storms tear through the desert, causing great floods and wreckage, but these are uncommon. Plants and a few animals still live here; lizards, cacti, snakes and a few birds who have evolved fast enough to be able to survive in this hell.
Any human who dared venture here would believe themselves to be in Eden. The rainforests have grown back, populated densely with brightly coloured birds, insects, lush forests and long, flowing rivers. However, the hybrids are able to hide themselves completely in this jungle, and they are not the only danger. Deadly animals lurk here; snakes, spiders, and other predators are alert and watchful, highly strung and likely to attack if startled.
This island, unlike the others, hasn't moved over the centuries. Europe has split off from it, leaving a jagged edge, cliffs sticking out from awkward angles. It is the most versatile continent. Newly growing rainforests, are slowly filling with wildlife; mountain ranges are topped with thin layers of snow, and sandy deserts are slowly growing.
Over the centuries, Europe has split from Asia, becoming a seperate island of its own, edged by sharp cliffs. It is a wilderness, filled by steadily growing forests, with little wildlife. The creatures are beginning to return, but they are cautious, unwilling to lose their homes again.
This country is one of the few places that hasn't changed much over the years. It is still a thriving paradise, tranquil and desert-like. However, it has heated up several degrees; the species living there have evolved or died out, but it is too hot for any life to stay in the centre.

Humans were running out of time. Their own
science, their own knowledge, had caused them to rise above godliness,
and they became arrogant. They were powerful, so powerful that they
couldn't hold on to it all. They kept on creating, recreating,
destroying and remaking. Nothing could stop them. Except disease. In
their haste to cure, or destroy, these disease, they created new ones,
ones that were more deadly, more fatal, than every before. Panic arose;
new medicines were created every day; new diseases also. Until one day,
a scientist came forth with a suggestion. The human race was so
desperate that they grabbed onto this gladly. And so the true horror
began.
Humans with disease were locked away, experimented on, cured
occasionally, but most likely killed. Eventually, those with diseases
began to hide away, and the humans realised what a mistake they had
made, when their loved ones were dragged away, kicking and screaming,
to be tortured until they died. And so the scientists came up with a
new plan. They began breeding corpses, breeding these diseases within
the corpses. They found many more cures this way, and the population
was safe from torture.
But occasionally, these dead bodies, these zombies, would create
something new. Strains of disease lept from one to another, into new
bodies, mingling with new diseases. Radioactivity fed these creatures,
and they thrived. They were mutants, malformations, feared and hated by
the people of Earth.
The humans managed to keep these mutations in isolation - or most of
them. The more common ones became almost pets, caged, chained up, and
examined. But the rarer ones, the ones who managed to escape... These
ones were the ones to worry about. Rarely coming into contact with
humans, they spent their lives lurking in the shadows, avoiding
everyone, lest they meet the same fate as their cousins in the cages.
But they all wanted one thing - the death of the humans. And as they
waited for their chance to come, they evolved, growing more powerful
and more deadly then ever. But the humans knew something like
this was inevitable, and so they began their new breeding program. They
bred the mutants, creating newer, more vicious, more deadly ones for
their own protection. They trained these creatures, taming them and
teaching them to kill.
And so the war began. Mutants were hunted down and killed.
Scientists were found murdered in their beds, their hearts ripped out
or their bodies savaged. Civilians cowered underground while their
protectors, the mutants, were torn apart by the hybrids that wanted
them dead. Some humans joined the war physically, kitting themselves
out with guns and going hunting for hybrids. And some mutants and
hybrids refused to join the war, living in hiding and killing only to
eat.
